A chance meeting with Ebrahim Alkazi on the steps of Kamani auditorium and then seeing “Einstein” on the stage inside, led Rashi to see Theatre as the most profound & perfect marriage of Arts & Science,Magic & Music, Dream & Reality and Beauty & Social Responsibility.

Rashi Bunny is a theatre and cinema actor in India. She is known for her Solo performances in Bhisham Sahni's Madhavi, Manjula Padmanabhan's Hidden Fires and Antoine deSaint-Exupéry's TheLittle Prince with Arvind Gaur. Rashi Bunny has performed in all the majorTheatre festivals of India and at International Theatre Festivals in Armenia,Russia and France & won awards and accolades . She was awarded for her performance as lead in the film Duvidha at the Festival Cine de Granada.

Rashi studied at the Maharani Gayatri Devi Boarding School, Jaipur and later graduated in Science from Delhi University. She initiated her interest in Theatre by joining NSD’s TIE summer workshop in1990 under Shri BarryJohn. In 1994, she joined Living Theatre Academy under Shri Ebrahim Alkazi and acted in “The Three Greek Tragedies”.

To formalize her passion for Theatre, she trained in Theatre Design & Direction at University of Alabama at Birmingham & Mason Gross School of Performing Arts, Rutgers University, NewJersey, USA from 1995-97 winning Ruby Llyod Artistic & Academic Excellence& Best International Student Scholarship Awards. While in the USA she acted as lead in many plays, such as Beth Henley's Abundance and Jules Feiffer's Feiffer's People and worked with Veteran directors like Karma Ibsen & Ward Haarbauer.

On her return to India, she worked with Shyamanand Jalan at Padatik, Kolkata during 1999-2000 as a recipient of Young Artist Scholarshipfrom Dept. of Culture and acted in ‘Khamosh Adalat Jaari hai’ among others.“Nabh Taaron se Khandit, Pulkit” was her directorial debut at Padatik, the rave reviews of which inspired her to start her own Theatre group - BANJARA in 2001with young students at IIT Kharagpur, West Bengal.

While directing and writing plays for the Children’s & Youth Wing of Banjara, Rashi travelled across the country with her workshop series: “I have aDream” for youth, teachers and children. Under MHRD Scholarship, Rashi documented a thesis on Padamshree Ratan Thiyam’s Theatre in Manipur & its global impact.

Rashi has been invited for seminars, lec-dems &conferences in India & abroad and to write for Theatre and Literature magazines. She has conducted theatre workshops for Engineering and Management students at IITs, IIM, colleges & schools of repute all over the country and was chosen as one of the 50 Icons: emerging personality of India in 2005 by Sahara India for being a completeTheatre Artist.

Rashi has recently launched her Banjara Theatre in Mumbai and is open to partner in meaningful Creative Collaborations in the field of Performing Arts.
